OmniCore Lab · Taiwan
We’re building an AI companion for people the smartphone was never designed for.
Phones assume everyone already knows how they work. People who don’t are handed a help article, a tutorial video, or a relative saying “it’s easy.” We think the design should change, not the person.
OmniCore Lab is a small R&D team in Taiwan. Right now we are mainly working on one product: PalmCore.
It stays with you until the thing you came to do is done.
Product
PalmCore: an AI companion that lives in the phone
It is made for people who aren’t at home with smartphones, older adults in particular. We aren’t trying to add one more app to learn. We want something in the phone that stays with you until the thing you came to do is done.
- Sits beside you
- It goes through each step with you. It doesn’t hand you instructions and leave.
- Never leaves you stranded
- When you’re stuck, someone steps in. Family can help from a distance.
- Remembers you
- It keeps what you’ve told it, so you don’t start over every time.
Principles
Four things we decide by
Change the design, not the person
When someone struggles with a phone, the usual verdict is that they “can’t use it.” We don’t see it that way. Someone who has worked for decades and raised a family can learn anything reasonable. If they can’t learn it, it isn’t reasonable. So we don’t build a “simplified mode,” we don’t treat bigger text as a solution, and we don’t grade people.
Being there matters more than explaining well
Even the best instructions leave a person alone with the screen. We would rather spend our effort on the moment itself: the step someone is on, at the pace they are going.
Data stays close to the person
Personal data is handled on the phone first, and leaves it only when it has to. That makes a lot of things harder to build. We accept that.
We don’t claim what we haven’t measured
If we haven’t tested something, we say we haven’t. That is also why there are almost no numbers on this site.
Status
In development
PalmCore has not been released
There is no version to download and no waitlist. At this stage we aren’t showing the product or discussing how it is built. What we can say for now is on this site.
When there is progress we can share, it will appear here.

The way to reach us is email
Partnerships, research and press are all welcome. If you just want to tell us what happened when someone in your family tried to do something on their phone, we’d like to hear that too.
